Birth, transformation, a dark egg, an artifact touched by powers of chaos, something indescribable emerging from the void... this picture can be interpreted in various ways and all of them are correct.

Process

I initally thought of giving up on this painting at this stage, which obviously didn't work, until I decided to spend an extra hour on the piece.
